Updated September 2026: Midnight’s Scavenger Mine is over. It ran from October 30 to November 19, 2025 as the second phase of the NIGHT distribution. The phase ultimately allocated 1 billion NIGHT across more than 8 million participating wallet addresses.
What Was Scavenger Mine?
Scavenger Mine was designed as an open distribution phase for people with an internet connection and a standard computer. Unlike Glacier Drop, participation did not depend on holding a qualifying asset at the June 2025 snapshot.
Can You Still Mine NIGHT?
No. Scavenger Mine concluded in November 2025. Old instructions telling users to open the miner, compete for daily allocations, or start mining NIGHT are historical and should no longer be followed.
What Happened to Scavenger Mine Allocations?
NIGHT launched in December 2025. Allocations from Scavenger Mine and Glacier Drop moved into the Redemption/thawing process. Claimed allocations unlock in four equal 25% installments according to each destination address’s schedule.

Why Did the Allocation Become 1 Billion NIGHT?
The Scavenger Mine allocation was originally smaller. Midnight later rebalanced the launch distribution and increased the Scavenger Mine pool from 626 million to 1 billion NIGHT. The Lost-and-Found allocation was reduced to approximately 252 million NIGHT.

What Is NIGHT Used for Now?
NIGHT is Midnight’s native, unshielded token. Registered NIGHT generates DUST, the shielded renewable resource used for Midnight transaction fees.
