What Gives NIGHT Utility?
NIGHT is Midnight’s unshielded native and governance token. Its key protocol role today is generating DUST, the renewable resource used to pay for transactions. NIGHT is also designed for governance and future network incentives, including block-production rewards.
NIGHT Supply
Midnight documents a fixed total supply of 24 billion NIGHT. Distribution has taken place through several phases including Glacier Drop and Scavenger Mine, while claimed allocations follow a thawing schedule rather than becoming fully liquid at once.
What Could Affect NIGHT’s Market Value?
- Demand for Midnight applications and network usage.
- Demand for NIGHT to generate DUST.
- The rate at which distributed NIGHT becomes liquid through thawing.
- Future governance and block-production utility.
- Exchange liquidity and the wider crypto market.
Why We Removed the Old Price Prediction
Comparisons such as “NIGHT will probably be worth more than Pi Coin” were speculative and are not a sound basis for evaluating the network. Token prices are market-driven and cannot be guaranteed from supply figures, airdrop allocations or another token’s valuation.
