Updated September 2026: Re-delegating ADA is useful when you want to change Cardano stake pools. It does not make you automatically eligible for NIGHT, DUST or an airdrop.
What Does Re-Delegating ADA Mean?
Cardano staking is non-custodial. When you delegate or re-delegate, your ADA stays in your wallet. You change which stake pool your stake credential supports rather than sending your ADA to the operator.
How to Re-Delegate
- Open a Cardano wallet that supports staking.
- Open its staking or delegation section.
- Search for the pool you want to support. For ZEIT, verify the current pool identity on our live pool page.
- Choose delegate or re-delegate and confirm the staking transaction in your wallet.
- Verify the delegation after the transaction has been confirmed.

Do You Lose Your ADA?
No. Normal Cardano delegation does not transfer ownership of your ADA to a stake pool. Keep control of your wallet keys and never send funds to somebody claiming they need custody in order to stake them.
Does Re-Delegating Earn NIGHT or DUST?
No automatic NIGHT/DUST reward exists from ordinary ADA delegation today. Midnight plans future NIGHT block-production incentives involving Cardano SPOs, but current federated Midnight block producers receive no block rewards. DUST is generated from registered NIGHT, not from delegated ADA.
