Updated September 2026: Strike Finance is a Cardano DeFi protocol built around perpetual futures. The old article relied on temporary TVL and reward figures; this version focuses on how the product works and the risks that do not disappear when usage grows.
What Are Perpetual Futures?
Perpetuals are derivatives that let traders take leveraged long or short exposure without a fixed expiry date. Positions are maintained through margin and funding mechanics rather than ownership of the underlying asset.
What Does Strike Finance Add to Cardano?
Strike brings perpetual trading infrastructure to Cardano. Features can include leveraged positions and trading controls such as limit or stop orders, depending on the current release.
Leverage Changes the Risk
Leverage amplifies both gains and losses. A relatively small adverse price move can liquidate a position. Perpetual trading also introduces funding-rate, liquidity, oracle and smart-contract risks.
Staking Rewards vs Trading Yield
Protocol incentives, token staking or trading rewards should not be confused with native ADA staking. Cardano delegation is a separate protocol-level mechanism and does not require leveraged trading.
Verify Current Numbers
TVL, open interest, reward emissions and leverage limits are time-sensitive. Check the current Strike interface and documentation rather than treating figures from a 2025 article as permanent.
